Chances of 4th gen duo tests turning positve after 32 days negative

Hello,

I had a risk exposure last month were the condom broke 2 times during anal sex while i was the insertive partner, the first time i noticed immediately and changed it, but the second time it lasted 3-5 minutes, i immediately went to the bathroom to wash and look for signs of blood or scars, there were none.

28 days after exposure i took two 4th gen duo test, one with my doctor that i had to wait 4 days for the result and the other one at a private std clinic with results in 15 minutes, the first one done by public health came back inconclusive, the one done by the private clinic came back negative for both antigen and antibodies.

When my doctor told me that my test was inconclusive i went to another private lab and did another duo test and came back negative for both antigen and antibodies, but now my doctor is telling me that those test are not reliable and she has order a RNA test and some other HIV tests including another duo, which now i have to wait a week for the results, she told me the result might be positive although i have two duo 4th gen test that are negative taken after the first test.

Im really worried and depressed by the idea, cant even slepp, what are the chances that both duo 4th gen test are mistaken after 28 and 32 days? She told she cant comment about that, she needs to see the RNA results

Any ideas about the odds?

As my friend told you that your test is good indicator for that you are negative so no need to spend more money just wait for 3 months mark and test for peace of minde

The RNA test is deemed to be 100% conclusive IF done AFTER 10-12 days post exposure and BEFORE the time MOST people begin to produce antibodies to the virus which is around 3-4 weeks post exposure.
Your doctor sending you for an RNA test now is pretty much a waste of your money. While the test you took at 32 days post exposure was negative, it was not conclusive, but gives you a good indication of your status. Test again at 12 weeks for a 100% conclusive result.
If MY doctor told me she "couldn't comment" about anything that had to do with my health, she would NOT be my doctor any more. Let that sink in............
