A year and a half ago I had a three month unprotected relationship with a female. Soon after we broke up she left my area and I lost all contact with her. After the relationship ended I developed flu like symptoms so I visited my physician and was given the all clear on all STD's. I continue for months to have a low grade fevers and a chronic cough that has continued to this day. Several months later my 4 year old daughter had her first of two mrsa infections. When her last infection accrued this past December I panicked and ran to go get tested and again received a negative HIV test. Now this year she's had numerous Angular cheilitis flare ups and now my mind running out of control.
My daughter has never had a skin issue and now she's battled Mrsa and Angular cheilitis issues. Aren't these conditions opportunistic infections? Could I have infected my daughter and I have not tested positive yet. I have read that it has taken some people 12 months or longer to test positive and in the back of my mind I feel that I'm one of them. Should I retest or even maybe bring it to the attention of our pediatrician?
I understand how hiv is transmited but this anxiety has me going crazy. I just want to make sure my child is safe and healthy.
