cuts and scrathes

Hi. I was on the bus the other day, before leaving about 30mins i had shaved my arms, while doing that i had cut myself. not bleeding a lot bit i had little dots from where the razor had grazed? Now there not to big but about a needle size maybe a little bit bigger.  Because it had just happened they had not scabbed. I cannot remember if it was still bleeding but while i was on the bus i saw a friend who gave me a hug now when he went away he had blood on his arm. I asked what had happened and he said that he was scratched by someone. My main concern is that the blood on his arm might have come incontact with my cut.... as i am not sure if he was activley bleeding either i could just see blood. Is this a route for hiv plus i also had a scratch would that matter.

It means that small cuts and scrapes, blood or not pose no risk.  In order for the "blood to blood" exposure to be significant....copious amounts of blood would have to be exchanged.

The size of the wound and amount of blood that would have to be present on both you and your friend to make that a risk...would buy you a trip on an ambulance, not a bus.

sorry nurse girl what does that mean?

both of you should have cuts wide open and huge blood amounts must be exchanged.

B/c HIV is transmitted via unprotcted sexual intercourse (anal/vaginal), thru sharing IV drug paraphernalia, and via mother to child.  The size of the wound and amount of blood that would have to be present on both you and your friend to make that a risk...would buy you a trip on an ambulance, not a bus.

NO risk at all.
