Intravenous Antibiotics and HIV antibody test

Hello,

Please help me. I was on intravenous antibiotics for 30 days to treat a lung infection. I had an HIV antibody test done in late April 2010 which was two weeks after I came off the IV antibiotics. The test came back negative and my last possible exposure to HIV was in March 2009. Can I trust this HIV antibody test considering I was tested only two weeks after I got off the intravenous antibiotics? Do these IV antibiotics affect the HIV test? I need a medical professional to help me out with this answer please.

Thank You.

Chemotherapy is not antibiotic treatment. You have a conclusive test result. You are conclusively negative.

Even if they are IV antibiotics and not oral antibiotics? Sorry, just want to be sure because I heard IV antibiotics for chemotherapy can affect the HIV antibody test, even though these aren't for chemotherapy, but to treat a lung infection. How sure are you? Sorry I won't ask you again after this.

You are conclusively negative. Antibiotics will not skew your test results.
