It's not accurate at all at 3 weeks. Find another doctor. 3 months post exposure is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.
If it was a DUO it would be highly accurate but seeing as though it was just an elisa it's not conclusive at all.
the results read 0.336 abs/con, non- reactive....wat does that mean?
It means you're negative thus far.
wat test can i take to atleast know my standing for now?.....its 6 weeks mark as of now...
wat are the chances of testing positive later?
You can take another elisa which at 6 weeks will be around 99% accurate. The chances of a negative at 6 weeks changing at 12 weeks is extremely rare with the newer tests.
An ELISA is not 99% at 6 weeks.
Some HIV specialists say it is and there are no HIV specialists on this forum.
No they do not and the studies on the approvals don't say that at all.
Dr Garcia is an HIV specialist,so is sharon lewin and many others at sydneys ST Vincents hospital.Dr Tan is an HIV specialist and the list goes on.
No one says that an ELISA is 99% accurate at 6 weeks. They may say unlikely to change when they obtain their conclusive test result at 3 months. Post a reply from any one where they state that.
I had a friend who I went to college with who was a chronic IV drug user and she tested positive 2 weeks after her exposure with a second generation antibody test back in 89.That was 23 years ago.She was dead in 5 years.
What does that have to do with the question that was asked? There are no articles or studies that give the % that you posted and no doctor has said such.
Our EXPERT doctors say it all the time and so do other specialist doctors.
No they do not give a 99% accurate at six weeks on an ELISA.
Sherry, sorry for the hijacking of your thread. As I said your doctor is was incorrect. A conclusive negative test result can be obtained at 3 months post exposure.
so which one is bette...duo or elisa?
YES-- Dr Sean Cummings--'' I would consider your antibody test 99.9999% reliable at 6 weeks''--that was back in 2009 on the freedom health forum.
ave talked to 3 doctors and they keep telling its accurate, am seriously confused!!!!! wat teast can i take for the tym being? atlest to quel the anxiety...
Sherry,I answered your question--''what are the chances of it turning positive later''--virtually zero.
A DUO ofcourse. It looks for antigen & antibodies.
