Question regarding testing

Hello Doctor,
Here is my exposure, all heterosexual
29 Dec 12- received unprotected oral and unprotected vaginal with local women. Said she was clean, recently tested and on Mirena, not too concerned
Prior to 7 Feb 13 received protected oral from CSW and protected vaginal and anal with another
7 Feb 13-giving and receiving unprotected oral, protected vaginal and anal with CSW
15th and 16th Feb 13-protected oral and protected vaginal with two CSW
Symptoms
13 Feb-Runny nose and pain in the back of throat, don't know if it was a sore throat or irritated due to drainage.
The day before yesterday I felt a like I was getting sick, I felt cold all day, and yesterday and now today I've had very watery diarrhrea.

While rationally I see my exposures were low risk, since the symptoms that started 3 days ago I have just become more worried as I've read on several websites that diarrhea is a symptom of HIV. I also have bleeding gums when I brush, which is why I'm a little worried about my oral exposure. I read another members recent post in the living with HIV forum that had unprotected oral and protected anal, which has me now also a little more concerned.

I went and took an HIV PCR/anti-body test today, and I was wondering if these symptoms were due to HIV if it would the PCR test likely be positive? I intend to have another one at four weeks post all exposures, then just antibodies at 6 weeks, and 3 months.

Thanks for your response.

3 months post exposure will be conclusive and use condoms. It's really simple to protect yourself from HIV.

Well I'm not worried about the unprotected sex with this particular person, as I know her. As for what is going on with me? I am not looking for conclusive results, but if something is wrong, I want to know ASAP, and this test will be positive prior to any other. But of course at the 3 month mark I'll have an anti-body. Sorry, but I test often and use all available resources, given that I have a very active sex life.

You had unprotected vaginal sex and you were here in 2009 with a no risk issue "protected oral and vaginal sex." What in the world is going on with you? You can obtain your conclusive test result 3 months post exposure and not with another PCR test. PCR tests are not approved standalone tests.
