fear of unknown fresh cut while testing in hospital

Dear professionals

This monday I went to a hospital for my HIV testing at 12 weeks, which came back neg, really relax me, but something terrible happened during the one hour  i spent in hospital.

After leaving the hospital, I noticed there were 3 new cuts in my two fingers, each 5 mm long, no bleeding but i can see the blood print under the skin, I didn't see any red color around so I guess not in touch with anyone's blood, I was very careful in hospital that I stood away from the crowd, the only things I touched in hospital was door, doctor's desk and paper documents about patient's information.I cleaned my hands in two hours after back home with water and soap.

I want to believe it were only paper cuts, but what if ? say the worst possibility, some HIV+ one hit me with a bloody needle...this possibility is driving me crazy!

So plz evaluate my risk and tell me do I need to wait another 12 weeks for another testing? and please teach me what is "open wound/cut"?

Thanks for your help.

Seek professional mental help. You are beyond the scope of help that an HIV forum can provide.

A paper cut is not an open wound. An open wound is a deep cut in the skin that is bleeding profusely and requires stitches or else you would die from bleeding to death. If you had an open wound you would know the difference between that and a superficial cut.

Thank you and webbers, I want to know the potential risk from scientic respect first then I will try to management my emotion and thinking from anxiety and guilty.

Please coach me what is "open wound" that can cause blood exchange and infection? I was not bleeding and didnt touch any other's fluid, is that means i was not in risk?

Totally irrational thinking,HIV becomes inactive once exposed to air, also transmission takes place inside the body not outside it.You would know if someone stuck you with a syringe,it would be obvious. Please stop worrying,it's not justified.

I'm not going to perpetuate your irrational phobia by answering a what if question that is so completely off the wall. The fact is that you got a paper cut from handling documents because it's winter time and your skin is dry. That's it. Use hand lotion, dont play with paper anymore, and you won't have that problem again.
