generations

Dear all,
First of all I would like to say I think this is the best forum of non-professionals ( and much more better that the most of the professionals site). You guys very interested with the new developments ( very well done researchs about literature) and very scientific about rumors etc..

I got my 3.5 months results today and it is negative. My question is related with the generation of tests. At that point, at 3 month does the generation of test matter?

Assuming your answer is no. then,

now there are some 3rd and 4th generation tests. I understand the point for 4 th generation test. They look also antigen. But if u think about antibody test is only conclusive at 3 month and no matter which generation u use, then what is the point for developing 3rd generation tests.

Assuming point behind them is that because they are so sensitive that they can detect earlier. Then why nobody can say that if you are tested with 3rd generation for example in 6 week, it is conclusive.
Thanks guys. I think I will be around  because I admit the quality of conversation here and to see the good and logical people around to help others.

Antigen tests are not stand a lone tests and all have to be followed up with an antibody test.

It truly doesn't matter what generation test they use 3 months is conclusive regardless of the test used it is the ultimate confirmatory far as someone's staus goes, but however there are many types of test that are used with blood and can detect the antigen much earlier than waiting for your body to create antibodies for the disease... But anyway congrats on your test result
