HIV + Hep C

Can somebody tell without a test if he has Hep C?? I am very much afraid i had HepC even before i got HIV, but I was never tested and now I have to wait till the 7th of Jan to have a test. I also think this is the reason my Elisas were negative. I have read about Hep C and you do not get oral and vaginal candids out of it. and swollen lymphs either. Teak,Lizzie, Chapeau, do you have any idea? Thanks a lot,men !!! A big kiss for all of you!

I really hope too!! Can you even imagine how hard is to tell yourself every day you are crazy? Well, I do. Then I look at my nodes and my mouth and problems are still here, even if I tell them that I KNOW I am fine! They know better and simply won’t go away, I don’t know why…

aawwhh sweetie...do you have ANY idea how many ppl have been on this site with the same story as yours?  they ALL have the same symptoms as you do.  they were all convinced...without a shadow of a doubt...that they were positive.  there was not one thing that we could say to them either that would change their mind.

all of their symptoms just "magically" disappeared when they got there negative result.  they have come back to this site and told their story...about all the symptoms THEY had...and how they had finally accepted that they were suffering from anxiety.

you have a negative result to prove that your oral exposure was not a risk.  i am not going to try and convince you any more that you do not have a concern...neither my time or anyone else's...has been of any value to you.  the only posts that you pull from are the ones from the worried wells who cannot accept their status either.  i do hope that your next test will finally put an end to all of this for you and you will realize that this has been due to anxiety.

good luck,
kim

wo of the delayed seroconversions were associated with simultaneous exposure to hepatitis C virus (HCV). In one case, co-infection was associated with a rapidly fatal HCV disease course; however, it is not known whether HCV directly influences the risk for or course of HIV infection or is a marker for other exposure-related factors.

Well, Lizzie, I can tell why it all sounds so stupid to you- and I know it’s rather strange. And still, it is the only possible explication I can give for my 3 months symptoms, so hard I thought I am going to die, and all vanished after 3 months –except for sore throat and lymph nodes. I know I seam crazy. I accept any explication you can give my for my illness matching only HIV.

so...what you are saying is... because your ex-boyfriend didnt test for hepC...you have "decided" that you are at risk for it????    AND because you have decided that you might have hepC (because he didnt test for it) that this has delayed your seroconversion???   AND because you might have hepC (because he didnt test for it) AND this has delayed your seroconversion...that you cant believe your 4 month negative result???

does this sound strange to you...even a little bit???

Do you think that all those symptoms I gad can be related only to Hep C? can this disease cause an error to my Elisa? due to hepC being earlier in my body than HIV....please HELP.....and merry Christmas everyone!

Well, may be I didn’t tell everything. I am worried about HepC from my previos boyfriend, I also had vaginal, the one that I am worried for HIV is the oral risk. I do know you can’t get HepC trough oral. But the ex also had no test for Hep C, as neither do I.

Hep C doesnt delay seroconversion at all. And when most people get Hep c ther body naturaly fights it off, not all people but most. Your HIV test were negative because it did not pick up any antibodies for HIV, it has nothing to do with because you may believe that you have Hep C.

teak, I am truly sorry. I really meant subtype E and and I double checked my spelling(still wrong) So is it true? also, about hep C I really hope I don't have it...but I will find out @3 Jan. Lizzie,  I think about it because I was so ill and now so fine that i realize it wasn't my imagination or anxiety. Kiss all of you!

I also have a question that may not be so smart. 2 people here say they had a risk for subtype E. Teak, u say there is no subtype B, so how come they had a risk regarding that? I am sure You know where to find out if there is or not such a subtype with delayed seroconversion. I also maintain my worry about coinfection HepC+HIV. I know you can give me a pertinent answer (as do other people here that work with HIV) , that's why I ask you. Thank you.

I have heard that also in my country at least  people that had HepC did not turned positive for 6-12 months postexposure at Elisa. So I know this as a fact. but HepC does  not give candida and lymphs, so I also can have HIV and appear perfectly healthy for Elisa. Please help!!! It's not anxiety, for almost a month I feel perfectly except for my nodes and mouth....

No, you can not tell if you have HCV without a test. HCV does not affect the ELISA test.
