You are really confused. It can take 10 years or longer for someone to progress to AIDS after HIV infection, NOT 10 years to test positive, and the window period is THREE months, not six, as you were already advised.
Now move on.
* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusive negative results or a no-risk situation will be based up the criteria MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:

can it take you 10 yrs for someone to test positive for hiv or 6 months? can it really take ten yrs?
i love everyone who loves God and those who don't love him!
I love you lizzielou you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The absolute best human being i've ever got advice from! Love you pls keep up the good work, it really means alot to person like me anyways!.
move on...you do not have a hiv concern.
I've gotten tested 3 times since my sexual encounter 8 months ago. So i was just wondering why i got lucky and tested negative all three times? I was thinking maybe because the guy doesn't after all have hiv or aids? That still remains a mystery, because everytime i ask him he tell me no! So i was wondering how long did i have to wait to get a conclusive hiv test result? Teak helped me, im thankful for his thoughts and knowledge. He is a incredible man who i respect and want to become more like him in the future. i belive with his strength and courage that i would be able to fly if i wanted too!
And Bratesha, never try to assess whether or not you have HIV based on your symptoms. It simply cannot be done. But do go get tested if you have had unprotected vaginal/anal sex with somebody of unknown or positive status.
3 months is when you can obtain a conclusive negative test result.
