I have a question about hiv
I wore a condom during anal sex with a male, it didnt tear or break therefore i know im protected against HIV from that way..
I had a test after 5 weeks of the encounter stds and HIV showed neg. i had pretty much every symtom that is related to HIV during the five weeks. When i had the protected sex i had a cyst underneath my testicles which was healing i think, my question is could HIV transmit through the cyst on my testicles if it came into contact with sexual fluid? Do you think i would need to test again?

What part of my answer did you have trouble digesting? Cyst or no cyst you were never at risk of HIV infection from the episode you have described.

As far as testing goes; I was speaking generally; testing @ 5 weeks post exposure is not considered conclusive. Thats whay we talk of a three month window period and not a 5 week one. By all means have another HIV test @ three months, but expect a negative result.

so you are saying the cyst on my testicle is not a risk and no need for further testing?

You say you are not worried about HIV infection after having PROTECTED anal sex. Then why are you asking your question? Protected sex is just that; protected. If the condom is used correctly and for the duration of intercourse then you HIV risk is essentially nil.

Havin an HIV test @ 5 weeks is largely pointless as you need to take an HIV test at three months for a 100% conclusive result.

As for your question; No you were not at risk of HIV infection from what you have described. You can spin it anyway you want, but you were never @ risk from this episode. What you do with this information is a matter for you.
