hiv exposure from needle at the e.r..

Hello so I have a question regarding a hiv risk, so last night I went to the e.r because I had a really bad headache, and I was put on meds and got a IV fluids bag into my system so as the nurse was preparing the pain meds that were going to be given to me by needle to inject in to my system I seen that the needle slipped of her hand and might of poked her skin or scraped her and probably got blood on it,after that she injected the needle into a saline container to put saline in the syringe and then she injected me with it ... is there an hiv risk here if the blood was mixed with saline and then in injected in to me?

DD, you have been asking repeatedly in several threads about non-risky events, which the whole world knows carry no risk. Here is the bottom line take-home message for you:  In the busiest HIV/AIDS clinics, there are no patients who did not have the standard, known risks -- i.e. unprotected insertive vaginal or anal sex, shared drug injection equipment, etc. If exposure to the virus in the environment, or from having blood drawn, or from hand-genital contact, and so on could spread HIV, obviously there would be at least some AIDS patients without the standard risks. But there are none.

All you need to do to avoid HIV your entire life is to not have unprotected vaginal or anal sex with partners at risk, and not share drug injection equipment. That's it, period.

Now, knowing that, you won't need to return ever again to ask about other kinds of exposure. OK?

Im sorry if u guys think im (whatiffing) but I am being honest I was already drowsy and asleep from the meds i was given so when she came back in the room she woke me up and told me she was giving me another dose of meds and thats when it all happen, If the needle did actually poke her n got blood on it and after that she punctured a hole on the saline container, filled the syringe with saline with the needle she poked her self with and the injected the saline mixed with her blood its not a risk for hiv?

Your health anxiety is getting the best of you again....worrying about brain tumors with your headache, and now this.

If you SAW this happen in real time, and felt it was a concern, why wouldn't you say anything?  Reason is, because it wasn't until after you started the anxious "what if" cycle of thinking that you got yourself all worked up.

One can clearly see from your posting history that you have an irrational fear of HIV, and other health conditions.

You didn't have a risk.
