How do I get over my anexity or "OCD" of Hiv

I have not had any risk or exposures to the virus..
I used a condom...
Got tested 6 months later..she got tested
we both came out clean

but yet why do i feel like i dodged a bullet? I have been obsessing over it like i do..or that someday i wont be so lucky

What wrong with me..its all i think about..
I will be at the store and just look at people and wonder how many of them have hiv..its taking over my life
im not able to have a relationship because of it..I wonder one day when i am married that my wife will cheat on me and infect me..

like i said its not right..and its consuming me

any advice you can give me..thankyou

I have received Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for my OCD for about fifteen years now. The best advice I can give is this, even though it maybe sound odd;

Think of your OCD (or particular fear) as a bully or monster trying to terrorize you. You have to Bully it back, tell it that it is nothing more than OCD, insignificant, no more than a thought, mentally beat it into submission, tell it it is ridiculous, stupid and has no basis in reality; This has helped me shrink it down to size. Then take a deep breath, and squeeze your fists when you take the time to put it into perspective, then relax your fists as you exhale and let go of the intrusive thought.

Remember. HIV is actually pretty rare and tough to get. It's just that media uses scare tactics to get us to remember to use condoms. Just always use a condom and you will be fine, maybe also get to know your partners well before engaging in sexual activity. Don't spend any more concern on it than necessary. You will be just fine.

Lastly, consider cognitive behavioral therapy and possibly an anti-obsessive drug like clomipramine, which has done me wonders. :)

Good luck to you, and my empathy to you, as being one who has struggled with this exact same problem! :) I wish you well.
