With PEP, you'll need a final HIV test at 3 months or maybe even 6 months. Follow your doctor's advice about it.
Thank you for your reply , i do hope i get a negative result maybe i will do an ELISA test at 6 weeks from exposure because i live in a very high risk zone. Thanks again :) .
This was a zero risk exposure and most experts would not have prescribed PEP in this situation, except maybe if your partner is known to have HIV.
PEP is effective up to 72 hours and your sore throat is not due to HIV. DNA testing usually is reliable at 21 days and your negative result is good news. However, in theory PEP could delay it. You'll need to follow your doctor's advice about further testing.
