No the symptoms do not last one to two months post infection. ARS if one has it at all lasts from 1-2 weeks.
The early symptoms usually become visible just after two to four weeks after getting infected with HIV. These symptoms persist for just one to two months after contracting the infection. The early symptoms of HIV include fever, constant headache, sore throat, loss of appetite, rash on the body (small flat or raised lesions that develop all over the body), muscle ache and joint pains, ulcers (which develop in the oral cavity, or even on the genital areas) and swollen lymph glands. These symptoms begin to intensify as the immune system starts to weaken. However, majority of the HIV infected persons who experience these early symptoms will not usually sense them until a few years later.
