Your friend follows her workplace guidelines. That's it. Nothing more to discuss. You are not responsible for her.
so is the situation different i mean does she require pep and how is it different?
Had you read the thread you would have known it is not the same.
I also read hiv can only be transmitted through
unprotected sex
mother to child
blood transfusion in developing countries
sharing injections for drugs
now will u consider this exposure as sharing injections by mistake?
To be honest she and me both think that she needs pep and she is at risk but reading here we learnt that getting pricked by just needle is not a risk but getting injected with the syringe is risk.
now what should we consider it ?
thats the confusion
the needle was in air for 1 minute before it pricked her..
Yes and she's also a nurse. You can't say she is unknowledgeable, is she?
she's sitting with me right now and its not a debate.
please help us if u can?
she's sitting with me right now.
please can anybody answer my question its urgent
She doesn't have access to a computer to register and ask her own questions?
My friends daughter is a nurse in a small hospital in a small town in India and we don't have expert doctors here and the cost of going to delhi or bombay is too high thats why i am asking this question on this forum.
Your friend is a nurse and she is having you ask us? Tell her she has to follow the Blood borne exposure policy that her employment has in place.
But this question is for my daughters friend who is still not declared positive.
anyways can you reply as i m worried about her and whether she should take pep or not?
You don't need to post in this forum you've already posted in the living with forum.
