I've never donated blood so I don't know. I would think they'd do that though. Right now they've become more strict on blood donations and they really have to screen blood. I'm sorry that happened to you. I'd hate to imagine what a horrible experience for you and that's all the more reason you should seek professional help. You can believe that you are 100% negative. From my research, it's the symptoms that may take years to show up but the virus can be detected in tests as early as 6 weeks.

That's not my lifestyle. when I was donor with redcross and if there was any promblems dont they by law have to inform me right away . like lets say if u recived my blood and you caught hep c they have to let me know right away .I talked to redcross she said we will send out a letter if there was promblem they can get into trouble if they did thata nd i had something didnt know
You're welcome. I had my scare over 4 months ago and when 2 nurses told me I should test out to 6 months it freaked me out but after reading not only what Teak has said and what Dr. Bob (thebody.com) has said I'm convinced that 12/13 weeks is conclusively negative.
