you need to make an appt with an infectious disease doctor so that this issue can be resolved.
Can I ask why you are asking questions on a forum and not the doctor that done the testing?
Hi so do u suggest that I am infected by some hiv virus tat cause the positive elisa but somehow wb is indeterminate coz it is a specific test only for certain strain of hiv antigen eg HIV 1 only and not HIV 2 etc? thanks..
There is no strain that cannot be detected by the ELISA tests.
No i meant I tested positive by ELISA but indeterminate by western blot since 2003.. So was kinda puzzled and don kw wat is happening inside me.. I did STD test and found negative for syphillis and Hep B too in 2005... Can anyone enlighten me on this? Tis is killing me.. I did hv an unprotected sex with this girl in 2002 who later told me she had unprotected sex with a 40+ unmarried man which is my concern she might get it from him.. Now I hv been deep kissing and petting with this new girl I like very much.. Don kw if I will transmit anything to her this way which I definitely don want to... Thanks.
so what you're trying to convince us of...is that you tested positive, starting in 2003, and have not seen a specialist?????
No I din.. jus worry it is some variant strain of hiv that give this result... understand that in Africa there are different hiv virus which normally is not screened in other countries where it is less common..
Also one question about the quick oral test.. if hiv antibodies can be detected from the mouth saliva or gum area then does it mean that hiv virus can also be present there in the mouth or saliva that could be transmitted to our loved one when doing deep kissing? Thanks..
have you seen an infectious disease doctor yet?
hi there but i have this test result since 2003 till now a total of 3 tests so far.. what other test to confirm I din have any other tests.. Thanks..
There are lot of reasons for indeterminate results. Usually lab error. There are other confirmative tests have your doctor use one of them.
