Worried Youngman Should I get tested again?

Dear Doc,

I had sex with a prostitute in Hong Kong, she was from russia I received unprotected oral sex and I had protected vaginal sex. I got tested 6 weeks after the encounter for HIV 1 & 2 anitbodies and it came back negative. Should I be worried? My whole life is upside down because of this I am scared to have sex with my girlfriend. What are the chances that I got HIV?

I really hope you can give me some answers.

L

If there is an additional risk to the poster it can and should be mentioned in responding to the post, perhaps informing them of there risk and referring them to the std forum when presented with a situation where other risk factors are possible, such as std's, just as we refer posters to the anxiety -or- ocd forums.

This forum is for HIV. Lets keep focused on HIV. HIV is not transmitted by receptive blow jobs.

Unprotected oral is considered a low risk exposure, and to date there really has not been any documented cases that can be directly linked to a sole oral encounter. I say this as a conservative who believes condoms should always be used with a high risk -or- unknown status partner. I'd advise an std battery to you, those are more likely risk factors when engaging in unprotected oral, ngu, syphilis, herpes, ect....could have been transmitted to you during this encounter and passed along to your unsuspecting girlfriend-always wear a condom from now on Hello-man...good-luck.

they will tell you what they told me take a test at 6-8 weeks for your own assurance. they will also say that the chances are so low they do not recommened testing for this exposure.

no one has ever gotten sex from a blow job and you had protected sex so no risk, but you can ask the dr and they will charge you 15 dollars for the same answer.

You'll need to post on the doctor's forum if you want one of them to answer.
