kids and hiv

hello. sorry for bothering but am stressed a little bit and cant stop thinking of that.
i was washing the hands of our son (14 months) at the public toilette, quite dirty etc.. when I looked around i could see some blood stains on the soap box but dont know if it was fresh or no... as i didnt think of that that time becasue i didnt feel at risk... a while later i found out he had some new cut on his hand (for adult to compare, it would be some 1/2 inch cut, 2mm wide).. is it possible to transmit hiv while (me) touching the soap box and then the wound (for the location of this cut - no soap, no water, only possibly blood on my fingers to his cut)? thanx so much...

HIV cannot survive in in.animate objects. Once HIV is exposed to air it becomes in.active immediately.
