left to worry

Please help me my ex girlfiend just told me she is hiv positive. It has been a month since we broke it off and i have been possessed by fits of worry. My hiv test is negative , but my dr has advised me to test after 5 months for a true result. So far my full blood count is normal however my cd4 count is 449 and cd8 count is 276 -i am worried that this may be on the lower end of the scale because because cd4 can be as high as 1900 and cd8 up to 800.

On the form given to me by the dr / lab a cd4 count of 350 warrants Anti retroviral treatment, and my count is not very far from that.

a hiv antibody test at 3 months will be conclusive..
a negative test at 6-8 weeks post your last unprotected sexual exposure(vaginal/anal) will give u a good indication of your status..
and 3 months post exposure has been conclusive since 2004..no need to wait till 5 months for a conclusive result
