london people

Hi Guys,

Firstly i have to say this site is fantastic. I only came on here for advice on my asthma but today i found myself in a bit of a pickle.

My question is.

I was walking down the road, its quiet cold and foggy there are loads of people everywhere. This guy infront of me decides to spit t the side. I was not directly behind him but a few steps maybe a meter or so.

Now when i was looking because i thought it was disgustimg his spit was brown/ red. Could have been blood or he could have just been spitting something he drank.

My question is i felt domething hit my eye ( bad day not to wear my glasses) if it was his spit do you think i am at risk of getting hiv?

I know it might sound odd but you never know...

Hope someone can help

Thanks..............

Oh ok, well thats certainly something i never knew.... So if your gums were bleeding and the blood was comming from there that would be the same as the teeth are in the mouth?

Saliva is not infectious and has over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibit HIV transmission.
