low red blood cell count

Hello,

I have just received a telephone call. My doctor told me to ring on friday with my blood test results but she rang me just now becasue my red blood cell count has come back and it is unusually low. She got the result back today but has not had any other results back. (This was a 'routine' blood count type thing)

Is this a sympton of early HIV?

I have tested negative at 13 weeks ELISA and am awaiting 17 week test results. I know you say 3 months is conclusive but exposure is in south east asia so a different strain may not have the same window period. Does a low red blood cell count have anyhting to do with early HIV?

Thanks.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusive negative results or a no-risk situation will be based up the criteria MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

But almost everoyne who is scared of this subtype is scared becasue the window period is longer.
The mean time is 115 days.
I'm not out the woods yet.
I wish it was conclusive.
I find out my 17 week result a week today.
