Thanks for all the help I had a rapid hiv tst at 8.5 weeks.
Came back negative so I am now 99.99% certain I am hiv negative,
I will not post anything else on here unless when I do take the 12 week one changes, but I very much doubt it.
What I went though was pure hell to be fair.
Anxienty and a bad cold, or man flu, but I still worked and still went out.
I was told the lump on my neck is nothing serious as I had a scan on all my neck, face for anything else.
Like people say symptoms are non specific and normally do not indicate HIV.
I think my anxiety and worry brought on the cold much worse, which caused symptoms.
Thanks everyone again
And from now on I am going to play extra safe, making sure either myself or the other guy plays safe.
Sorry to be a pain but was thinking
the 12 week mark for a 99.99 or something for a definite result
how is this calcuated
as if someone goes for a test at 4 weeks and was hiv- and then not tested again till 12 but was hiv+
will the same happen for a 8 week test, how come the % change is so small between the 4 week 95% and 12 week 99.97%
surley 8 weeks is a long time for the remaining 5% to change.
XXXX!!!!!XXXX
do they get these figures from clinet trust telling the truth?
or do they test someone who had an hig explosure risk and tested them over the 12 weeks like every week?
XXXXX!!!!XXXX
Hi All suffered from massive anxiety
so did a home kit which gives you results in 15 minutes.
result negative
so I recon if the result changes I must be a rare breed that result can change but think I am pure lucky but stupid from putting myself at risk
I post again either at 12 weeks or when I do another test
Hi All
I was tested on a rapid test day 38 and came back negative I know this is not as accurate as a 4g but was told that after 5 weeks normally a 3g test will be the same as a 4g test as normally only antibodies will be detected so will have to wait and find out they did give me a home test to send of when I feel I need testing again, which will be good.
Only becuase of some puzzling problems I seem to be having,
will be really glad when it is 12 weeks, and when the doctor works out if my blood results are normal and nothing major wrong like cancer, which is my view is a lot worse.
Glad to hear in regards to the negative 4th gen test!
Hi there thanks for the reply
I got tested on day 28
Got results back Friday and came back negative.
Got to go back around 3 months to get final result but think it will come back the same.
I do have some other problems but think these could be due to something else.
Done a blood test with doctors and get results in morning.
these are for things like b12 etc.
Going to ask for a diabettes test to rule that out as well.
but just feel more relaxed from the results as people say a duo test which I am led to believe is used at the clinics here in Hull(UK) are quite accurate at 4 weeks testing for both.
thanks yet again for the help,
I be sticking around over the course and let you know the 3 months result.
Did you get your results back yet?
Just to let you know i have picked up anal chlamydia, and the only person I could have caught it from was the one I am concerned about with possible HIV
Not been with anyone else!
So 3 weeks now to when the 6 week test will be done.
Anxiety is my main worry now but just have to keep calm and do things to keep my mind away from these things
The other symptoms seem to come and go but you can never relay on symptoms alone.
when I thinking about it,
my neck tense
get shivers hot/cold
throat gets sore
and thinking to hard is making me tired for sure,
I am up most of day but after 8 hours I rest, but do not need to but do to get little bit of energy back.
(all signs of worry)
but I should know I can not change the end result.
need to chat to someone I can trust, but do not want to tell family otherwise could become tense.
sorry for the long winded report/write up but just had to get it off my chest,
thanks
I jsut had a call from the gum clinic and think they want me to come in, only spoke to person on reception but he said to call back in morning, but told me they nothing to worry about?
what could this be about?
Yer I know very risky,
Hopefully I have not paid the price (but will live with it) and enjoy life in the best way I can
anyway will be going back to get re-tested at the reconmended intveals
Hello,
Unprotected sex poses a risk of HIV transmission.
An HIV test at the right time will give you accurate results.
A 4th generation test should be done at 4 weeks post exposure and a simple HIV test at three months post exposure.
Keep calm and test at the right time.
Take care
