Confused

Hi there.

After 7 1/2 weeks of my exposure, I had a negative HIV test result.  Now it's my 12 th week. I am so scared and confused whether the 7 1/2 week's test was correct or not.

I have almost gone through all the ARS symptoms except the swollen lymPh nodes and sore throat. The rash came around 10 weeks on. Before that no rash.

I ve loosed a heavy weight. Everytime I see my self in the mirror, I  get scared to seE myself.  I have been healthy for the past 3 years.

Please help me to figure it out.

Thanks.

Based on experience here, any test done after 6 weeks, is highly reassuring and seldom changes. You should feel more confident to go for your 12 weeks test which will be the same and conclusive to bury all your worries to rest permanently.

I doubt, you have ARS. Weight loss is also due to stress and anxiety. Relax and repeat your test, only if your exposure was an unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Otherwise don't waste your time and money and move on with your life

Go a head and be negative. Your just fine 71/2 weeks is great news.

(Ref: Mayo Clinic) When first infected with HIV, you may have no signs or symptoms at all, although you're still able to transmit the virus to others. Many people develop a brief flu-like illness two to four weeks after becoming infected. Signs and symptoms may include:
    * Fever
    * Headache
    * Sore throat
    * Swollen lymph glands
    * Rash

You had symptoms at 10 weeks which is not ARS

(Ref: Mayo Clinic)The symptoms of HIV and AIDS vary, depending on the phase of infection.

Within the first few weeks
When first infected with HIV, you may have no signs or symptoms at all, although you're still able to transmit the virus to others. Many people develop a brief flu-like illness two to four weeks after becoming infected. Signs and symptoms may include:

    * Fever
    * Headache
    * Sore throat
    * Swollen lymph glands
    * Rash

Years later
You may remain symptom-free for years. But as the virus continues to multiply and destroy immune cells, you may develop mild infections or chronic symptoms such as:

    * Swollen lymph nodes — often one of the first signs of HIV infection
    * Diarrhea
    * Weight loss
    * Fever
    * Cough and shortness of breath

Those are symptoms of anxiety,stress,love or depression. Once you get tested at 12 weeks magically they are all gone. Been their and experienced all of it even though I was exception to the rule. Enjoy life...

I encourage you to watch the entire video. This gave me a new meaning to life.

My condom broke down inside when having sex with the sex worker. I got a flu like symptom on 10th day after than incident. Massive diarrhoea, sore throat. And nothing happens for a month. Then on my 5th week I got weak. Fatigue,nausea and a constant diarrhoea. And eversince I have been loosing my weight daily. My 54th day after exposure, antibody test,  HIV check showed negative. It's my 12 th week and m so scared that the result might change in between 54 to 90 day.

Should I stay calm with the result from 54 th day or should I get tested. M so freaking out as concerned with this matter.

Now we learn that your condom broke inside. Yes here you have risk. I would suggest you to repeat your test after 12 weeks and get a conclusive result.

It may be highly reassuring but not conclusive. You need a 12 weeks test for an ultimate confirmation.

I have all the symptoms that you talked about and some more such as runny nose and STRONG headache. I'm now on the 9th week, but the days go really slow. I'm sure the symptom that we both have are due by the stress, since I also tested negative last week.

I'm sure your 12 weeks result will be negative, but please let me know so I can relax !!
