hiv and stapler pins

i got pricked by a stapler pin immediately after someone got pricked with the same pin. i asked the docotrs around and they mentioned that i was at risk if the person had hiv. is this true ? please explain!!!!

Any doctor that knows anything about HIV will tell you that you had no risk.Why are you finding this so hard to understand.You had no risk so this is where the story ends.Goodbye.

i am sorry teak but can i take this as 100 % that the transmission cannot happen in the way i explained, i am really confused. please i really want to move on and stop thinking about this.please reply one last time.

i know but each time i ask a different doctor, he gives a different view.

Enough, you've been going on this no risk issue since June.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child

i also said the same thing to my doctors but they say any penetrating object can transmit hiv, please throw more light as i am really worried.

first of all--HIV can't survive outside the body--secondly it becomes inactive and unable to infect you as soon as it is exposed to air and finally a pin is not hollow like a needle so there is no blood trapped inside the pin head.
