protected anal

I have an protected anal with another man. ( I am the receiptive one). I supposed to feel ok after this encounter as they guy told me he just got tested for all the STDs 1 month prior to the encounter.

What made me worried is that 2 weeks post the encounter I was diagnosed of genital herpes. I don't know if I got hsv2 from him as he told me he never has an outbreak. Now I am getting nervious and worried. Is it possible that he had some herpes sores on the base of his penis which was not covered by the condom and I may have exposed to thsese sores. I know it's possilbe that I got hsv2 via this route, but is it possible that hiv can also transmet this way?  Although I didn't see any sores on this penis at that time.

Teak ,

      thank you for your feedback again. So you think it's unlikely that hiv can be transmitted via the lesions( if any) which were not covered by the condom. Can you kindly provide me the reason why?

     Really appreciate your answer. thank you.
