references?

Dear experts

I understand that kissing and oral do not pose a HIV risk no matter  w or w/o gums, sores etc since saliva neutralizesa the virus and secondly, as the virus does not live outside its hoster ..So, I am also reading from some other sites that true, the virus does not live outside its hoster, BUT they mention that however the virus does not die instantly and the time varies from temperature etc etc (I ve read this in another forum maintained by doctors as well)
, anyway, this is different from what I ve read in some of your replies ie "instant death" outside the body.

So, I would like to ask if you can point me some references from well documented studies -- I do not intent to insult anyone here, I would just feel more safer knowing also the scientific basis of such an "absolutely no risk" answers you give quite often in this forum and also since there are different opinions from experts-doctors

Thanks for your time

Hi Teak

What do you mean ? Sorry I do not get you-- Is really confusing for people reading two different answers coming from experts when it comes to those serious issues..Sorry for being pain in the ***, but your answer is not really helping, and I guess also other readers inside this forum might have these questions as well...

Thanks for your time, you provide a great service anyway!

You didn't read two different answers on this website.

"I would not say your risk ,if he had HIV is "slim to none"- that's too high.  I would say they are effectively zero.  How much of his ejaculate or other genital  secretions you may have swallowed makes no difference.  EWH "

No, I never said that I read two different opinions in THIS site -- I read two different answers in this , and another experts site, maintained by HIV experts..

I think you understand my confusion, in the sense one wants to trust doctors, but when two doctors have different opinion? This is why I am asking for some scientific data, "--just the facts mam--" , in order to really know what is what-- It goes without saying, that many of us reading this site might have a higher education and this allow them to read and translate properly scientific articles/sources.

Thanks

We are not responsible for incorrect infomation you obtain from another website. After reading you posting history you don't qualify as one that has a high education level that would understand scientific data.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Well...you would be surprised, but thanks for the insult - Do not think because I might ask a question that is an easy "yes/no" , and maybe sounds silly to you this makes me a "dump" - Nevertheless, having myself strong scientific background I was asking you  to support your answers based on scientific data, not because I do not trust you, just to further ease my concerns.

Scientifically speaking, if ones gives answers like you do for issues that serious to public health, then I think you are obliged to have and be able to cite  at least some references/studies and scientific data backing up your opinion - Just quoting what a doctor said to this post is not science though.. So I would say that maybe you are bit out of line here since you making a personal comment just because I am asking for accurate info..

Again, I do NOT intend to worry anyone here reading this forum, and IS TRUE, you provide accurate info/replies, I am just pointing out sometimes the need for real scientific facts, when you know that people reading this forum also read other experts forum and might get confused..So, answer me this.. Which one should then the reader believes ? Both answers (with small differences) coming from expert in HIV/STDs ..Just stating  "We are not responsible for incorrect information" has to be scientifically based not because you say so, but because facts do  that you provide the "correct" one! So, really, nothing personal but I really do not like people being rude.

There is no EXACT answer to your question, which is why you may see variances among replies.  The virus is very fragile and only can remain active a very short time outside a human body.  What is a "short time"?  Seconds to minutes depending on environmental factors.  The important thing to remember is that the virus begins losing it's effectiveness immediately upon being removed from it's host, which alters its ability to infect someone.

Search of expert forum about this topic..the doctor's answers to these kinds of questions is very consistent.
