hi i have been losing sleep over the past two weeks because of a possible exposure. well it was a dark night and my friends and I were walking along the road and having a tendency to always look for needles I could barely see the outline of what I thought was one. I tried to step over it and coming down with my foot i felt a sensation in my foot (i was wearing sneakers). I didn't want to go check to see if it was knowing my OCD about certain things. When I went home I had someone check my foot and they didn't see any puncture on my foot but ive been told that needlesticks dont tend to leave a mark. but a week later I started getting thrush in my mouth and a cankersore in my mouth. it was confirmed by a doctor. I told the doctor my story and they said not to worry about my symptoms being acute hiv, or the fact that i stepped on a needle and it was able to transfer anything. I was on nystatin for the thrush and ive never had cankersores in my life and now its suddenly appearing? I know im being rediculous probably and i would like someone to assess my risk on an environmental needle stick?

1)what are the chances of an environmental needle stick transferring HIV?
2)could the symptoms i propose be of stress related?
3)should i get tested?

thanks for your time
