Protected sex during herpes outbreak

Good evening
I had protected vaginal sex and afterward realized that I was having a herpes outbreak. I had not experienced any precurser symptoms so I have been extremely concerned. I can confidently say that the sore was completely covered by the condom. However, my scotum appears red and irritated but I can not see a visible sore on any part of my penis or scrotum that was not covered by the condom. I have two concerns...
1. Could I have passed the herpes to my partner even though it was condom protected sex and;
2. Does this encounter put me at risk for HIV. Vaginal fluids were in contact with the base of my penis and my scrotum.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

I just noticed a lesion on my groin that was certainly not covered. Please for reassurance - you are certain that would not have put me at risk? I will stop asking after this question. Thank you

Not an HIV concern.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

I understand and will post to the STI forum. However, my HIV concern was the possibility of vaginal fluids contacting the irritated skin or possible small undetectable herpes sores on my scrotum.

You need to post in the correct forum. You do not have an HIV concern.
