scared of infection

About 4 years ago I was an escort for 3 months.  Recently I have been consumed with the fact that I may be HIV positive.  I never had vaginal sex without a condom, but I did give oral sex without.  Can you get HIV from giving a man unprotected oral sex with only the pre-ejaculation making contact with my mouth?  I also have a 7 month old son (who was delivered via c-section) and I'm terrified I may have passed the virus on to him.

Not all women are tested for HIV in the US when pregnant. It's an option to take an HIV test.

Its extremly low, CDC says that the calculates risk per act is 1/10000, thats when the other partner is know to have Hiv, since you dont know the status of your partners it will be less than that.

try to be calm and not to overworry about it, the odds are astronomical in your favor.

Let us know when you got your negative result.

PD: I think that when a woman is on labor a rapid test is always done but Im not sure, contact the place where you delivered your baby and ask them.

I called a friend and am going to get tested next week...but I was still wondering if anyone knows the probability of contracting HIV from giving unprotected oral sex if only the pre-ejaculation comes in contact with your mouth.  Anyone?

If you chekerd NO on the hiv test, they couldnt have done the test without your autorization, the symptoms that are related to Hiv ARS occur between 2-6 weeks after infection not 4 years after, I know is very hard to go and get tested, but you can read million of histories in this forums of people being afraid of being tested, and then after they tested they began a new life, your exposures where very low risk, anyway you will continue to be terrified and paranoic of symptoms if you dont get tested, the test will only take 20 minutes and will give you a life of peace of mind, and if you have a 7month baby, dont hesitate to take the test, it will make your life happier and yours baby life two.

Good luck, your test will be negative, let us know teh results.

You can find the closest place to test near you in this link.

Thank you.  I'm just so terrified to get a test.  I don't know what I would do if it came back positive.  As far as being tested during my pregnancy, I remember filling out some paper work and one ? asking me if I wanted an HIV test.  My mom was with me so I got flustered and checked "no".  But I don't know if at some point they tested me without my knowing.  I am going to call today and find out.  Just recently I've been getting yeast infections once a month before my period and the glands in my neck are swollen, making it hard to swallow.  From my understanding those are both signs of HIV infection.

If you live in the US almost all the women at labor or during pregnancy are tested for hiv, if you exposures where 4 years ago, and you where tested 16 or more months ago you dont have nothing to worry, giving oral sex is an extremly low risk practice. anyway call your doctor and ask him if you were tested for hiv during pregnancy, iif not get a rapid test its only takes 20 minutes an will give you a whole life of peace of mind.

Good luck
