six weeks negative and eight weeks intermediate!!!!!

I am crying to death right now. I got tested for HIV at 43 days (little over 6 weeks) via OraQuick test and results were negative. Then I got tested again at 63 days (about 9 weeks) via OraQuick test and today they told me that it's indermediate or something!! They couldn't tell from oral test so that's why they send off the blood and results won't be back till two weeks. What the hell is going on here? I am scared as hell. Only exposure was protected vaginal sex and unprotected receiving oral sex. I don't get it. Help me please, I am lost.

WOOHOO!

I received one more negative oral swab test result at exactly 72 days post exposure (10 and half week), Thank God. To cut it short, after receiving my indetermediate results, I did three more oral swab tests and all three of them are NEGATIVE. What are the chances that they are false negative? None, ZERO. Time to move on. Also, I got them all relatively at 9 to 10 weeks, which is very reliable. I called today for blood results but they aren't back yet, what the hell, I don't care about them anymore.

I am flying to Cancun this weekend to get relaxed after stress and depression of 10 weeks. Yes, I did lose my muscles and gain belly because I didn't work out at all for last two moths due to this stress.

No more sex for me till I get married and have my wife checked for all the STDs.

Oh let me add, at the clinic, people who tested me FIVE times in two weeks were laughing. They said that they haven't seen paraniod person like me before. They said I am negative and time to move on.

Anyways, to all thank you very much specailly to Teak, Chris and Lizzie. I am heading off before they all jump on me to come here again, lol.

I went to another doctor to get another test. My first test read  Hiv 1 read indeterminate then the second one EIA read non-reactive then HIV 2 immunoblot read non-reactive. She then tested me for hepatitis which came back negative. I decide that I would go to another doctor with better bedside manners. How long does it take before the virus show up?

I know what you went through, it's really shame that sometimes healthcare provider don't know what they are doing. Did you do any follow up test? Do what I did, go to public health clinic and get one of those oral swab tests. Your results will be back within 20 minutes.

I guess I panic because I never had a test to come out intermediate before and I had a stupid doctor that couln't explain what it really meant. I thought it was either yes or no.

No, it is not human nature to be obsessive. It's an illness.

Brother, I know you are right and you are well wisher. It's just human nature and mind which is causing these fears and anxiety. In my case, certainly it is causing the fear. What are the chances that oral swab and blood results will be different? ZERO or close to zero.
I know deep down inside that it will be negative. But, it's just human nature. You are right though, I shouldn't have tested any further after six weeks and I wouldn't be in this situation.

Move on. You didn't have a risk and you've been told that several times. You didn't need your first test let alone another test.

I think that was invalid oral test, but the nurse who did my test was intern so she didn't do follow up tests and rather she took my blood. That's why I had to go to two different clinics for oral tests and which came back negative. But, I am still waiting for blood results which is truely scaring me with what if thoughts.

You cannot get an intermediate or an Oral test. An intermediate on an ELISA is neither positive nor negative and the test needs to be redone.

Thanks brother!
I am just nervous right now because why did one of my oral swab test came back indetermediate? What if blood test will pick up something which other oral swab tests didn't pick up?

Quick history:
Protected sex and unprotected oral to unkonwn female (multiple times, four times protected sex and two times unprotected) Both times I ejaculated in her mouht, which makes me more scared. She told me that she is clean but didn't saw her results, just verbal communication.

Six weeks Oral Swab negative (wasn't satisfied and went back again at eight weeks)
Eight weeks Oral Swab indetermediate, took my blood for backup testing (ever since then I am living in fear)
Eight weeks one day Oral Swab negative (some what clam me)
Nine weeks Oral Swab negative (Calm me again)

I swear that once I receive my negative blood results, I am not going to get tested again and not going to bother having sex again. Man, this waiting time is just killing me. I just can't focus on anything at all. I can't even talk to my friends about this situation. Just want to get out of this situation as soon as possible and move on with my life.

What is intermediate exactly? I thought it was 3 test you can take when one says this then the next test say negative I was told it was negative and a follow up is just to make sure.

There might be a lab error. Why wait? Just go to some clinic and get oral test done. I got two other oral tests done and they were negative. I am still waiting for my blood results, it is just killing me to wait for them. But, with two negative oral swabs, I hope and pray to God that please let it be negative.

I took a test because of a annual check up and my test in Oct.06 came out to be negative. I didn't not have sex till June07 with protection and now my doctor saying that my test came back intermediate. All I want to know is how did this happen?

Mine was indetermediate in oralswab not on blood. However, I looked manual for OraSure and it says that it's invalid and they should do a follow up test. But they didn't. Then I went to two different clinics for oral swab test (two different types, one was OraSure and the other was OraQuick Advance, one which tells results in two days and other in 20 minutes). Both came back negative, Thank God.

Both of these tests were done at 9 week period, I believe they should be pretty accurate.

Back to why they didn't do follow up? Instead they took my blood. Today after a week, I called them for my blood results and they aren't back yet, obviously because I called in way too early due to being nervous. Usually blood results are back within two weeks. Then I asked the provider (luckily today I got hold of very nice and educated guy) that why they didn't offer me another follow up test and he said that the girl who did mine oral tests was intern. That's why, she is new and don't know standard procedures. Which did calm me down.

With all the above information, I am hoping and praying to God that please provide me with one more negative results of blood test this week and I won't bother testing again.

I think that they will be negative because I received two more negative tests after indeterminate (let's not forget about six weeks negative as well). I am just aftraid that what if blood will catch anything which was not caught by oral swab. But, please dear God please let it be negative.

Lab error. Why did you take a test to begin with, if you've never had a risk?

I took a blood test and the test read intermediate and I panic because my doctor could not tell me exactly what was going on and telling me to come back in 30 days. I have not had unprotected sex and no oral sex with anyone how could this happen?
