specific symptoms and ars timing

Hi Dr,
I had two episodes of protected vaginal sex with a CSW. First time, I had a release and i saw the condom didnt break. Second time, I didnt come and I wasnt sure when I took the condom off if there had been any breakage.

I forgot about the incident, till 3 weeks after I had sore throat for couple of days, together with 3 maculopapular red non itchy bumps on my left arm near elbow, which gradually faded in two weeks.

Few years back I had a surgery for an infection, during which my drs had performed cd4 counts periodically for a year. My counts used to vary between 470-560, 30-32% with cd4/cd8 0.9-1.0. Knowing my cd4 counts I was tempted to do a cd4 count around 3.5 weeks (2 days after the sore throat resolved) and it came at 435, 31%, cd4/cd8 0.93. I never saw my cd4 so low.

My questions are,

1. Is my rash consistent with the ars rash ? Have you ever seen something so local for ars ?
2. Is my cd4 count drop also reflective of ars?
3. Do one have less ars viremia (and hence less symptoms maybe) if a drug resistent strain is passed.
4. Is 3 weeks the typical time for showing ars ( i guess thats true).

Hmm.. 'theoretically' the lower the virus concentration is, the lower the infection chance is. However, a risk is a risk and somebody has got to win lottery.

For question 3 I meant not me but if the CSW is on HAART does that usally make the virus less virulent, when transmitted, (or at least during the initial period, aka ARS).

1. you had protected sex you didn't have a risk
2. NO
3. Not all people have ARS. What does drug resistent have to do with it when you aren't on HAART?
4. You are not having ARS, you had protected sex which means you didn't have a risk.
