Extremely worried about symptoms

Hello everyone, just wanted to say this is a great site.  Here's my situation. I'm a 21 yr. old male.  Back in September I had protected sex three times with a 20 yr old female. On the first encounter the condom broke and I was inside her unprotected for no longer than five seconds.  Before me she was in a two and a half year long relationship with another male. She claims that he was her only other sexual partner.  About two months after my last sexual encounter with her, (11.5 weeks after the condom broke) I was so freaked out about having HIV that I got tested. Test results for HIV, Syphillus, Ghonorrhea and Chlamidya were negative. At the time I was tested, I was experiencing weight loss (6-7 lbs) and possibly swollen groin nodes.  They were painless.  I am a thin person and I have heard it can be easy to feel nodes in your groin.  Lastly, about a month ago, I noticed a small, painless, enlarged node on the lower back part of my neck.  At the time I was experiencing a very bad cough and congestion.  I saw the doc and he gave me antibiotics.

I am still VERY concerned and freaked out about my HIV status.  The window period is very confusing to me and I am worried that I could still have HIV.  Any opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated!

You had a test at 11 weeks?  Sounds to me your clear then.

I was told in the UK that no one as 6 weeks who was negative had ever turned posative at that clinic and they see a good ammount of people for HIV tests.

I forgot to add, I still am experiencing some groin swelling and an enlarged lymph node in neck. These are the only symptoms.

Regardless of your "symptoms", whatever they may be, they don't related to HIV. You had an HIV test at 11 1/2 weeks after your last possible risk (which was low to begin with), which may be considered conclusive. Sounds like you are out of the woods on this one.

If you are worried about something going on in your body, by all means, take yourself to a doctor and get checked out. But whatever is going on, it isn't HIV.

Good luck!
