Am Afraid

I am 26 years now and i had unprotected sex at the age of 15 years ago. After this i have not had any sexual activity again, since that time i have been seeing some of the HIV symptoms in my health (night sweat 4 or 5 times in a year, blur long distance vision, constipations, golden/yellowish urine, recently had chickenpox for the first time in my life, lack of muscular growth)   . i recently tested for slightly low white blood count and my doctor want me to repeat the test again. Can it be HIV?

Yes, I did for 21 years. I also new that I was HIV positive for those 21 years. He stated he had unprotected sex, and doesn't mention that he's had an HIV test, so yes he should have an HIV test to rule it out.

Yes you are right, I simply picked the word "15 years ago" from his post. Based on your reply, can it be said that "some of the people can live with "reasonably good" health even after 10+ years of infection and without being on antiretroviral therapy"?

Teak ! what is your expert opinion about the gentleman? Do you recommend him further investigation/testing?

The is not necessarily true that if a person picked up HIV 11 years that they would be dead. If you would have read the post the poster said he is now 26 and their possible exposure was at the age of 15.

Had you picked up HIV some 15 years ago, you would have been definitely dead by now, or at least so much sick that totally unable to sit on computer and write this thread down.

How about your that "the only" school mate (i guess you were in junior high school at the time), with whom you had the unprotected,,,, must be happily living with her hubby and a couple of  tiny tots.
