Possible exposure

Hi, 12 weeks ago I had intercourse with a sex worker.  After about 5 mins when she got off me we realised the condom was not there and was inside her.

I didn't think anything of this and it was about 3 weeks later I noticed a lump on the side og my neck.  I went to the Dr who felt it and said nothing to worry about cos of the size and go back if it gets bigger.  By now UK on the net and see hiv symptoms.  A week later I think I find a lump in my groin area and back to gp I go.  He feels it and says its nothing at all and just benign.

Now 12 weeks later my lump on the neck is still there, I sometimes get shooting pains from my groin and armpit area and get all sorts of pains at the top of my jaw line near the ears.  I now am going to take a test but just wanted to know if this is common with hiv.

I apologise if this a pointless question.  Thanks

Only a test result 3 months post-exposure is going to provide you with the answers you seek. Its time to take the test.

Hiya, your symptoms are more common to hundreds of conditions other than HIV. Speculation is quite pointless as it can never tell you your status. As your going to test now your results will be conclusive, so fingers crossed. What you may want to do at the same time, is get tested for all STD's. They are far more wide spread and far easyer to catch. So for peace of mind get them ruled out and if all negative and you still feel unwell then best consult your doctor.

Best of luck with the testing.
