unprotected

I had vaginal intercourse with male there was penetration for 1-2 minutes then he used a condom and ejaculated in the condom. He says he does not have std but I do not know. I am very worried, I see the risks are low according to the forum but I just want to know the risks for this. How infectious is pre-cum becasue I think that could be what I got infected from. Should I have went to the emerency room to take medications for post possible exposure. I would  really like another opinion on my situation.

How infectious is pre-cum, are there a lot of cases of people getting it from pre-cum?

Generally speaking, you do NOT meet the criteria for nPEP ( rape, intercourse w/ known HIV+  Partner, etc).  If the male was HIV + ( which you do NOT know) , there was a risk. Since you did have UNPROTECTED intercourse and your partner's status is UNKNOWN, you DO need an HIV test. The odds of him being HIV + is quite low, this coupled with only a single episode make the risk you've been infected fairly low. You may test with an HIV antibody test @ 6 weeks. If NEGATIVE (i expect it to be) retest at 3 months for a CONCLUSIVE result. In the future ALWAYS use a CONDOM when engaging in vaginal or anal sex.
