I have read that inhalers can and so cause thrush
How long after exposure do HIV positive people typically experience thrush anyway?
Anyone have any other thoughts/ideas?
do you have asthma? do you use an inhaler? i've heard inhalers can cause this...can anyone confirm this?
My tounge is ugly right now and I just want it to go away. This entire episode is just really scaring the **** out of me. I have bad anxiety and some hypochondria and this episode really takes the cake. I have never been so scared.
I mean what the hell else could it be?
All i know is that he took a swap and he put it in some liquid and I guess looked for a reaction.
Did your doctor do a microscopic examination of tissue from a lesion to confirm it is thrush (oral candida)? Unless you have it confirmed it may not be thrush at all. It's not that easy to confirm visually. All persons have oral candida to a degree but which is managed by other microrganisms in the mouth. If one has used antibiotic recently that can wipe out the good microganisms that controls thrush and you get an outbreak in that manner.
The doc diagnosed it as oral caningitis (spelling) but its not painful at all and it hasnt bled even when I scrape and brush it and he said its starting to go away since last time he saw me.
Having a white tongue off and on is normal. You can usually brush it off with a tooth brush. If it were thrush, you can brush it off and it usually bleeds. Having thrush as long as you have stated would have went to your esophagus and you would be in serious pain when drinking, eating or swallowing.
No its a white coating on my tounge, the doc told me it was fungus/bacteria from cunnilingus.
the symptom you describe is not an primary indicator of hiv. symptoms cannot tell whether you have hiv. (i used to go on internet read up on something and convince myself i had that condition.
white stuff could be anything as Teak mentioned. did u get a white spot on tongue like a tiny blister?
Or let me ask you this, how long after infection would thrush occur?
What is your take on what the doc said about that you can get the white mouth stuff from oral sex?
worried 826
your right your mind does play tricks. i do the same all the time and it does cause you to become ill.
try not to worry
Yeah I know but then sometimes i think about if maybe one of my last hiv tests was wrong or something, its weird and I know it sounds nuts but i cant help it my mind just starts to think this stuff and imgaime things.
Hopefully this stupid oral junk goes away with this last dose of meds, everytime I look at my mouth in the mirror I start to panic. I guess its a good sign since the doc said it was already getting better.
As you've been told you do not contract HIV from oral vaginal sex.
Ok I went back to the doc since my white stuff on my tounge didnt clear up yet after 5 days and the doc gave me a stronger med but said it already cleared up a lot. I had a slight temperature 99.3 (probably because I was in the sun all damn day playing army today)
Now I am back to being extremely frightened again and feeling horrible. I talked to the doc about it and he said its a fungal infection and that some girls just dont keep it clean down there and all it takes is a few licks and you can get it in your mouth. I cant believe I am all anxious again, and the girl even had an HIV test a few weeks ago too since shes going in the army so she should be fine. I feel like I am imagining all the symptoms of the first stages of HIV now since I had the slight temperature.
Any advice?
It was kind of comical how non-chalant the doc was about the whole thing while i was so damn nervous.
Maybe it was one of those, the doctor didnt actually tell me what it was, he just looked in my mouth, took a culture swapping, came back and asked me if I was with someone sexually and I said yes. Then he gave me a antibiotic shot, azithromycin pills, and mouthwash and sent me on my way and said it would clear up and ill be ok soon.
STDs can and have been documented from giving cunnilingus.
Herpes is probably the biggest STD risk during oral sex
Chlamydia and gonorrhea can infect your throat
HPV can be passed during oral sex, but it is rare. HPV has been found on vocal chords
Almost no STD is spread by cunnilingus and there has never been a reported case of transmission of HIV through this route.
Thrush is very common in the general population and does not indicate HIV . In advanced AIDS, you can get severe thrush ( oropharyngeal candidiasis) but you dont have it.
So as they say, "move on " and enjoy your life
