HIV is Not Transmitted By Oral Sex.And You Absolutely Do Not Need Testing.
Stop Worrying...
I had a low risk exposure (received oral sex ) on 10/18/13 and used a toothbrush (9/15/13). Since that time, I had a few symptoms of ARS most notably uticaria whole body rash after drinking heavily, 2 mg zanex habitually and a series of 3 antibiotics in 5/13. Tested HIV - on 11/30 thru Lab Corp with viral load and elisa test 6 weeks post exposure. Are these results conclusive. Also, in 10/12 I developed small fiber neuropathy in hands, feet, and even face and torso. I keep reading about small fiber neuropathy and HIV and am very anxious that my test results were completed before the window. with only oral sex, (heterosexual) although possible biting of labia, I am at risk?
Because it is for a viral load and neither the antigen of the virus or the antibodies produced in the body.
Because it is only useful for early detection, say 2 weeks after exposure and it's not conclusive, where as the DUO at 4 weeks+ is alot more accurate and a much better test to be having because it looks for both p24 antigen and antibodies.
Last Question - why you are not interested with RNA?
RNA+P24 = DUO ? (sorry i don't know about DUO)
The DUO or Elisa would be fine now.
Please advice me which can i choose RNA+p24 or Elisa? i am so anxiety, my head turn to RNA cause my last exposure is 5 weeks back.
Because the Elisa antibody test is commonly used around the world,it's cheap, sensitive, highly accurate and reliable, your HIV DNA by PCR is not a standalone test and is very expensive and is nothing more than a viral load test that monitors people who already have the virus.I really don't know who would have advised you to take that test,if it showed a high viral load then there would be no doubt that you would have had an exposure to HIV,but if it showed a zero viral load then you wouldn't be able to prove without any certainty that you weren't infected, this is why an antibody test must be taken after a PCR test to diagnose HIV.
can you tell me why anti body test. and what about my PCR DNA is that not accurate?
An antibody test is the only test that is going to give you a 100% conclusive result at 3 months.
