Nope,

You just have to live here long enoug to lean a few things. Prostitution is in the cultural fabric of Thailand. Here girls in the nothern provinces (the more impoverished) go to shool up until they are 12 years old, then they work in the rice fields, food stands, night markets etc.

Eventually they head to areas of Thailand that known for the prostitution business to earn quick big money. It soon gets to the point were they will not quit even if given the chance at a well paying job.  The money is too great. It is usually not addictions that makes them not want to quit, it is just pure economics. A person with a 6th grade education will never earn more than 7-10 dollars a day. So their choice is either be dirt poor, or live a lifestyle of wealth.

Then if you have the missfortune of being born of a certain clan in Thailand, you will not have citizenship rights. You will not even get to go to school at all. Those girls have 2 choices be a slave/servant forever or go into prostitution.

Like I said, it is woven into the fabric of Thailand. I work with prostitutes, children of prostitutes, even retired grandmothers that were prostitutes at least every other day. I see prostitutes on the streets every day on the way to work. The govt allows prostitution because they do not want to address the root of the problem, the lack of education. The lack of oppertunities for the poor, and the cultural desire for a serfdom type society. I admitt I have bought into this world, we have several maids, drivers and yard servants. If they were well educated, I could not afford them...

So truth is, I may sound like a regular, but if you really knew Thailand....  I just sound like a person that has lives in Thailand.

Shadow,

Prostitution is agains the law in Thailand! Law....  is pretty much difined and administred via money.

CSWs earn so much because their prime market is forieng investors. A one time incounter they earn as much as the average Thai does in 8-10 days. Which is around 50-70$  For an absolute stunning woman, and I mean make your heart stop, maybe 100$  Girls that dance make as much as cardiologist do.

Hey this is not to say prostitution is a hobby of mine. There are several books about the industry in Thailand. But if you live here, you do see it every day.

Nope, I just did what the doctors said to do...  took their knowledge as fact.

Folks you have got to understand, a good portion of Thailand economy is driven by the sex trade. So Thailand has seen a lot of things. They are not nivices that is for sure. Fortunatley by no means is it Africa over here. But the sad truth is, the economy is so bad over here, the money that foriengers can provide for sex here can get the pros here to do anything....  meaning unprotected sex for an extra 5 dollars etc. So they eventually contract HIV and spread it around.

A CSW in Thailand can easily earn more that physicains, MBA's, college proffessors etc.

Do you have some info if the Antibodies test don't work properly with the strains they have there and that's maybe why they prefer to use DNA PCR for reliability?

I live in Thailand...

As to why they use DNA PCR testing for diagnostic purposes....

You could ask millions of questions of why Thailand does what it does. Thailand is not exactly the bastion of organization or conformity.
