worried about symptoms

7 weeks since possible exposure, iv had 2 bouts of flu like symptoms, now at 7 weeks I have dull ache in left hand side of stomach, joint pain and slight discharge from penis is this hiv related or other std?

Hi danbean,

No one can judge if the cause of the joint pain you describe. It could very well be due to sitting down in the same position for too long?

But if you have a negative test at 3 months, then you will know for sure.

Yeh but this sounds like reactive arthritis which I thought was brought on by hiv, or does it appear later

Hi danbean,

Discharge from the penis does not sound like hiv, you should visit an std doctor soon for those symptoms.

Symptoms or lack of will not tell you anything about your status. You put yourself at risk and your 3 month post exposure test will be conclusive.
