Teenage Hair Loss With Hair Bulb

Teenage Hair Loss With Hair Bulb

I'm a teen and lately I've experienced hair loss/thinning. I used to have thick hair. Really thick hair.
What worries me is that my hair falls off by itself in the shower or when I comb it. At the end of the hair strand, there is this white grainy thing. I believe this to be the hair bulb. Does losing the hair bulb mean that my hair won't regrow back? Or will it take years? I've noticed that mostly every hair that falls off (I say "fall off" because I'm not pulling it or anything) has the hair bulb attached to it. I've gone to my doctor. He says it's my diet possibly. I hardly ate anything daily, followed by purging. I'm trying to change this. Lately I've been eating my meals, not much, but still trying to eat. However, my hair still continues to fall. Can a bad diet cause the loss of the hair bulb too? And..How long will it take to correct this possibly?

It could be your eating habits, which you need to change 'cause it can cause so many problems but at least get your vitamins. As for the hair loss do you have any small patches of hair gone in a circular pattern, it could be Alopecia, it could be mild or server. My 10 year old daughter has Alopecia and she is totally bald without hair even on her body. She started to grow her eyelashes and eyebrows back but seems to be falling out again. So, if you have Alopecia if it is mild it can grow back but if it is bad it may never. If it is due to your eating habits, it won't get better until you do. Take Care of yourself and May God Bless you.

I'm studying to be a hairdresser. I have to say that I think you are seeing a cuticle. Just like nails every strand of hair has one. If they come out that is nothing to worry about. Just food for thought.
