Newly Single

I am soon to be single after 3 years of marriage - it is no fault - just irreconcilable in nature.  I do not want to stay under his insurance plan.  I am 56 in good health with no pre existing conditions and active adult woman.

What is the best plan for me to get for me alone?  I have no dependents.  I may be moving from Florida to California when divorce is finalized.

Thank you.

Hello,

You can perhaps find a plan that's right for you at ehealthinsurance.com. It's the largest online health exchange in the country, and it doesen't cost you anything to use. They show health plans from all across the country. Also do some checking on your own through the individual health insurance market. You'll have to first determine where you are going to be living, because that is the market in which you will choose your health plan. You can go with a managed care plan such as an HMO, PPO, POS. Or, you may want to consider a Consumer Directed Health Plan, such as an Health Savings Account (HSA). These types of  health plans are becoming increasingly popular with consumers, and more employers are offering them as well. Hope this helps.
