daughters health insurance

My 26 year old daughter let her blue cross individual health insurance lapse 90 days ago. , She has no assets and is about to become unemployed.  She smokes, although is trying to quit and four years ago was treated for IBS which does not bother her since she quit dairy.   Otherwise, very healthy and does not live a risky lifestyle. .

I am considering buying insurance for her until she finds a new job (hopefully one with insurance)  to protect my assets in the event of a major illness.  Can I do that?  Should I do that?  She is willing to go to the low cost community clinic for minor problems.  What factors do I need to consider?  A high deductible is OK, it is the really big expenses that we are worried about.

You can always buy insurance for someone else. Even if she has insurance from her company, you should ideally have individually so that you do not face such situations in future. Take into account her medical needs, past history and other such medical factors. I would suggest that you buy the highest cover you can afford, cause there is no telling how and when you will need it.
