Just started 60 mg steroids for hearing loss

Hi I am on day 4 of a prednisone taper for sudden low frequency hearing loss and tinnitus. I am  concerned about side hearing loss, and side  effects of medication. I thought prednisone increased energy, I am exhausted. My tinnitus keeps changing ears and volumes. Has anyone else experienced this and what other side effects have you experienced after 3 weeks on this stuff?  ( that is how long I am supposed to take it) Thanks

I should add that in the event you have  sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL), then prednisone is standard treatment, hopefully asap from the onset, to improve outcome, when no causes have been identified (idiopathic).

Look into low thyroid function which is often associated with tinnitus, fatigue and slow healing processes, among many other symptoms and impairements.

You can do your own self-test assessment, for thyroid function, by doing
Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature test.

Prednisone does not increase energy; It's an immunosuppresive drug
and probably prescribed to you to suppress suspected auto- immune
or over-reactive immune activity, possibly based on your doctor's suspicion
of auto-immune condition of some sort.

I hope this helps, however, please note that my comments are not intended to replace medical advice

Best wishes.
Niko
