Hi Missy, you need a full audiogram to determine the cause of your hearing loss. If you have an asymmetrical nerve loss, you need an MRI scan with gadolinium and possible medical treatment.

You need to make an appointment with an ENT & make sure that they staff a licensed audiologist, such that the appropriate hearing evaluation can be made.
The truth is, the faster this is done the better, pending on the cause of the hearing loss.
