A related discussion,
ROOT CANALS ARE SCARY was started.
I'm wearing a cardio-net monitor and they caught something. A brief history about me is "24 yr old male. cholesterol 245, ive been having this left side chest pain for about a yr now. ive had echo, ekgs, stress echo, holter monitor, event monitor, and blood work. i also have been experiencing pac's and pvc's. all my test were normal besides the event monitor which showed the pac's and pvc's.left side chest pain, radiating down my left arm and into my left hand, cold sweats, feeling lightheaded, about to pass out. I just received a call last night from the cardiologist on call and said that the monitor company called them with some irregularities in my heartbeat and asked if i was alright and talk to me today, today they called me in for a echocardiogram, and said that there was a run of V-Tach on my monitor and the beat was around 127. I felt it when it happened it felt like "back to back PVC's" and I'm assuming thats what they are referring to. I do drink beer everyday, (irrelevant or not)? My main concern is this happening again and developing into V-Fibb, which is deadly. 1.Could this cause v-fibb and SCD in my situation? 2. What could have caused this? 3. Is it possible for v-tach to be benign or is it always deadly? why haven't this ever been caught with the multiple of test that i had, holters and event monitors?? How dangerous is this? My pulse is always jumping around up and down. Thanks"
what procedures are you referring to???
The doctor gave you his best advice. It isn't very often a doctor will give a second comment. Now, given the advice, it's time for you to react. It will be interesting to hear after the procedures what is learned. The ball is in your court. After the procedure, do keep us informed what is learned.
That being said, there was a doctor on this site ten or twelve years ago who gave wonderful advice: "If you hang around bars, you will eventually have a drink. If you hang around barber shops, you will eventually get a haircut. If you hang around Cardiologists..."
1. Ntermianl BNP is not the test of choice for NSTEMI
2. Absolutely but less likely. unstable angina is due to thromosis in the vessel, not chronic obstructive coronary disease, so it can happen in any area of the endothelial lining that covers the inside of the vessel wall. It typically happens in areas that are slightly diseased, however.
3. This could be some type of vasospasm (Variant angina) and could only be diagnosed with a cathterization and an ergonovine test. Sometimes a trial of nitrates or calcium channel blockers with improvement of symptoms is also diagnostic of this disease process.
does anyone know what the usual response time is for the Dr's here? thanks
I started to notice stomach symptoms after root canal then the chest pains and other heart symptoms could root canal/gum disease cause my stomach symptoms and chest pain and other heart symptoms (pacs, pvcs?? mouth always feels and tastes bad,bad breath, bleeding gums could the dental work that i had done cause the problems that i have? bc i didnt have these symptoms until like 2 yrs ago after i had the dental procedure. could it have caused some type of inflammations and still be causing it, because i still have the bleeding gums from my fake tooth everyday, and just bad taste in mouth. what do you think about that? every heard of anything like that at all?
I understand, but I'm guessing the answer will be the same, just like the other forum doctors said and just like these doctors said when you started asking these questions here in 2007 as a "21 year old male".
Again, I hope you find the answers you want, but you're looking at the wrong issue in my mind. You have an obvious health anxiety which is probably causing your symptoms. The mind is a funny thing.
Good luck,
Jon
i would really like to see what the good Dr. at the cleveland clinic would have to say about my questions, i've never had them answered by the knowledgable Dr's here.
Not my words, that's something a Doctor on another forum wrote after answering this question many, many times for the poster.
Jon
Michael, haven't I answered all these questions many times before now? Coronary blockages and angina are unheard of at age 24.
I will agree with the rest of your comment, the statement Coronary blockages and angina are unheard of at age 24 is simply false and not as rare as some may think though not all that common, I would personally withdraw that statement but then thats your call, though I agree completely with the rest of your comment.
I don't know what you're expecting for an answer, you've asked this so many times here and on other expert forums and the answers are always the same. I have read many doctor's responses to this question on several forums, I hope you find what you're looking for, but I really think you need to address your fixation with your health anxiety.
I think this doctor's response to one of your many posts sums it up;
"Michael, haven't I answered all these questions many times before now? Coronary blockages and angina are unheard of at age 24. No more tests will help. It's almost certainly chest wall pain, which is no threat to life or health."
Good luck,
Jon
I also wanted to add that the pain is like a squeezing/pinching type of pain in my chest like right over my heart, and I've been having alot more left arm, and left hand pain along with the jaw pain lately, more than usual. can someone have unstable angina without stable angina?? if i had unstable angina would it get worse with exercise or exertion?? thanks so much Dr.
