Antidepressants and Ishemia and anyone on Antidepressants

Hi,Im looking for heart patients that might be on xanax and effeor or other antidepressants that can cause qt prolongation,I have never been told i have it,but i do have minimal subtle septal ischemia,and usually my heart rate is in the 90s sometimes up in the hundrends.....and a ekg back in 07 showed sinus tachycardia with right atrial enlargement and high qrs voltage but i just found that part out by reading my records,My cardiolgists tells me my heart is not bad i shouldnt worry about it,but i do and my medical dr switched me from ativan to xanax on this past thursday and i am feeling nausated,but not as dizzy as on the ativan,i started effexor on friday and i dont know if it was a combo of the meds im on xanax going off ativan,risperdal, the effexor and on thursday i had 2 pills of nitroquick,My concern is the qt prolongation i read where effexor can cause it,im not exactly sure what it is something about rapid heartbeat and Im wondering if other people with heart problmes take any antidepressant with this qt warning,,,,I need advice..i dont trust my dr he seems so unconcerned and i had to beg since sept to get a copy of my heart records,Hope to hear from someone..oh im tapering off the Risperdal

Hi!  Im 42/female and I have been on heart meds and effexor for years now.  I personally havent had any problems and I feel ok.  I wouldnt worry about it too much but if you arent comfortable with your dr then by all means get another one.  also talk with the dr that put you on antiD's.  sometimes the warnings on drugs really scare people and its mostly one out of billions....lol  hope you are feeling better!
