Breathing Problems and Asthma Diagnosis

Hi I am on asthma meds and also have left ventricular dysfunction and even got that broad term cardiomyopathy diagnosis which is termed as moderate and my regular doctor has me on Flovent and Serevent but the breathing has gotten worse especially at night. My regular doctor doesn't think that this asthma is cardiac asthma since the lung function test showed bronchiole problems recently. Can this be cardiac asthma which is worsening due to the meds used for my "regular asthma"? I have chest tightness and am quite fatigued. The breathing problems started back in April when I was diagnosed with left ventricular dysfunction and is steadily getting worse. Is there a test or some type of monitoring that can be done at night to measure my respirations or oxygen level in my blood to determine if maybe this is "actually cardiac asthma"? I am also currently on Lanoxin,Diovan HCT and a very low dose of Coreg - 6.25 which was prescribed by my cardiologist in May.Thank you very much.

I have asthma as well but only light,  I was put on Lanoxin along with other meds with my first afib, but the lanoxin gave me so many arythmias that I was allways out of breath, since I am not in afib and since I am off Lanoxin I have no more breathing problems, just a comment , hope it helps.

It can sometimes be difficult to sort out which of two problems that cause identical symptoms is the primary problem.  I am suspicious that the heart is the culprit but your cardiologist will have to make that determination.
