Could I have have caused perminent damage to my heart by taking ADERALL (amphhetamine salts) for add over the last ten years?normal BP w/ High pulse rate 130?

I am  a 41 year old female with a  normal BP 110/70 (sometimes as low as 104/62  w/ a high pulse of 130-160. There really is no trigger to the increase in heart rate, I comes intermittently at times when I am doing nothing as well as at times when I have stress with anxiety and of course after I exersise. What concerns me is that my pulse rate regularly 80-90 will just sky rocket out of the blue for know reason as high as 160. At times I feel  small stabbing pains, like a needle in my heart, palpatations where I feel my heart beating in my ears. and check my pulse at 130-160 manually. Im not sure what this could be? so many different S/S fit so many possible diagnosis. This has been going on and off for over 2 years. Lately I have been experiencing  intermittent shortness of breath, fatigue, and leg muscle/ foot cramping, or spasms(not painful)
I just had surgery 6 months ago, a complete hysterectomy caused by a large tumor. The only thing out of the ordinary was an incredibly low potassium level when I was addmited to ER, I learned that the level was so low there was a concern for my heart . (??)Since then, I have had completely normal lab work. so normal that the Dr. said I was abnormal.lol  CBC, CHEM 7, Thyroid panel, hormone panel, everything normal.

I am a mother of three and am active but do not  exersise on any regular basis at all! Please do not reply if you are going to tell me that is my problem:( I have never worked out in all my years). I am 5ft 6" 140 lbs  I am embarrassed to say I am a closet smoker. I smoke 1/2 pk a day.
I have committed to stop smoking And I want to start exersising but  I think this problem could be due to the fact that I took the drug Adderal  for aprox. 10 years in which I had  stopped taking and switched to Strettera. I  know  this  is not a side effect of the new medication. Strattera is a non-amphetamine based ADD medication. Could this be caused by previous use of Aderall? 20mg 2x dly for the past 10 years? I do not have insurance right now and am unable to afford tests at this point. I just want an honest opinion of what kind of damage I could have caused my heart and suggestions on how to help myself if Aderall could be a factor, or if it is something else? I want to start exercising but am fearful what my happen I get so tiered so fast.  I know this is allot of info but any feedback would help. Thank you.

You are off to a great start with your commitment to quitting smoking!  Hopefully, you'll get over this bump in the road and be off to a "running" (OK, maybe walking...lol) start to feeling better.  Best wishes and good luck with kicking the smoking habit.

You may want to try posting your question on the other Heart Disease Forum.  There is a separate link for the forum where you can "Ask a doctor."  The doctor may be able to offer you some more specific answers to your questions.

Have a great day!
